Tell us your story as it relates the San Diego Wildfires:
Personally I have never seen such an incredible disaster such as the wildfires of 07. I am from Hawaii and have survived a few hurricanes there, but they didn't seem as bad. Since growing up in Hawaii in the ocean, in the mountains and on my back gazing at the clouds as a child, I have grown up to love nature. And after almost drowning on a few occasions I have a deep respect for Mother Nature. I hope that our society is will heed the wake up call that we are getting, and start doing more now to keep our fragile environment in balance. I was working in Fallbrook during the fires, and vividly remember the red sun day after day and the uneasy feeling I had while driving in the smoke to and from work under that red sun, geeling as though tomorrow may not show up, that maybe it was my last day.
What is your experience with Green building/Energy Efficiency?
After the fires, I learned allot about my employers, who never repayed us for days lost due to the fires, so I left, filed for unemployment and while looking in the paper one day, saw an ad for a company that had just developed the first Solar Powered Green Ribbon Home in the nation, and I thought, wow, finally someone is doing something good for our planet. I called the number and now work for a company that cares, about people, about saving energy, saving lives and helping people save money so that they can enjoy life more with their children and grandchildren and so on through the ages, the way life was intended to be. A company that respects Mother nature, just like me.....
